What is the Aspiring Teachers Programme?
Newington Green and Rotherfield Primary Schools have partnered with Clarus Education to recruit passionate Graduate Teaching Assistants, who are looking to train as Primary Teachers.
This exciting opportunity will see you kick off your journey, working as a Teaching Assistant through Nursery to Year 6 with a range of children. Successful completion of your first year on the Aspiring Teacher Programme and a TAP (Teacher Apprenticeship Programme) application, will see you undertake a 4 Term Teacher training course, followed by a 2 term FastTrack NQT induction; at which point you will be a Fully Qualified Primary Teacher.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- High level of emotional intelligence
- 1st Class or 2:1 degree (Education/ Psychology related preferred)
- Experience working within a classroom/education related setting
- Knowledge and understanding of the primary curriculum
- Confidence working with children independently
- Be able to lead large group activities
- Have an animated personality and be a strong team player
- Takes constructive feedback/developing your own skills
- High standard of numeracy and literacy
- English, Maths and Science GCSE (A-C)
- Ability to adapt easily to different situations
- Committed to improving children’s life chances

- Arranging your initial registration and face to face interview
- Ensuring you’re fully compliant and authorised to work in a school
- Guiding you through assessment tests prior to interviews
- Supporting your interview structure ahead of your of your trial in school
- Providing you with a dedicated consultant to guide you through each stage of the Aspiring Teacher Programme (ATP)
